Concerts, Events, Nuffnang 0 Comment »

The acts they bring in each year never fail to get me excited because I never thought I’d have the chance to catch them live in Malaysia, ever! Last year there was Sean Kingston, Mizz Nina…and this year, the awesome Taio Cruz will be performing alongside the chosen local music sensations Prema Yin and Dragon Red!

20110923-122003.jpg
To be honest, I’m equally excited for Prema Yin’s and Taio Cruz’s performance that night. I’ve only seem and heard 1 of Prema Yin’s songs so far so it would be great to watch her perform her other songs live! I wanna see her dance! Woohoo!

When is the fun taking place?

Date: 23 September 2011 (Friday)
Time: 7 pm onwards
Venue: Speed City KL, Selangor Turf Club

20110923-123356.jpg
Woohoo! I got my Black Chic Party Outfit on and I can’t wait to party!!

Razzle Dazzle with Miss Tourism International at Focus Point

Events, Launches, Nuffnang 1 Comment »

Razzle Dazzle baby, Razzle Dazzle

Was that a line from Austin Powers? :D

As much I love my color lenses (Fun Fact : currently using Geo Lens that makes my eyes look bigger), I still love wearing my specs because it makes me look like I could be taken seriously. Only problem with wearing em is that my lashes (so long) would rub against my glasses and it’s uncomfortable *bimbo*

  • Anyway, here is how I look in specs (Fun Fact : my spectacles are from GUESS).

I look like the psychologist your mother warned you about. (Fun Fact : I studied psychology for those who still don’t know)

Event : Ms Focus Point Dazzling

Razzle Dazzle was the theme for this event. Miss Tourism International paid the new Focus Point outlet at Fahrenheit 88 a visit recently and I was there with a few fun peeps to check it out. Obviously the event was full of beautiful ladies strutting their stuff in their stuff when you think Miss (Insert pageant).

Look at all of them, all pretty in their outfits and posing for the camera!

I felt so inferior standing next to them but then again I couldn’t get my eyes of some of them because I appreciate beauty like that. It’s so obvious how some girls would naturally stand out among others when you put a whole bunch of them together at one place.

Chermaine was the host of the event! Nice catching up with her again and it’s great to see her busy as usual.

The one who stood out most was of none other than Miss Lithuania and indeed, she grabbed the title as Miss Dazzling Focus Point.

More snaps of the girls at the event!

I even tried capturing this with my panoramic function on my faithful smartphone.

Some of the bloggers who were there with me. These people are all so young they make me feel old!

So there we have it, a short summary about the event from my eyes.

We each got a free pair of frames from Focus Point and some cash vouchers from this event! The ones in the picture are not mine (My pair is nicer looking! :P )

I was really excited when I got the pair of Kappa frames and just recently got Mr Chief to test his eyes for it.

Lets see how he’d look in it when we collect the specs! :D

Thanks Nuffnang for the invites!

Everyone Connects Turns !!!1ONEONEONE

I don’t want much! I just want everything! – BUNKFACE

Congratulations on your 1st birthday and getting everyone connected for the past year. This post is written to celebrate *celebrates* the 1st birthday bash of Everyone Connects. Everyone Connects is this campaign carried out by the good people of TM to demonstrate the power of connecting, communicating and collaborating among the youth.: http://www.everyoneconnects.net/

I’m sure some of you remember the biggest karaoke event that was organized by these people last year at Bukit Bintang? BUNKFACE’s “Through my window” was practically being played everywhere during that period of time. I heard them on radios, TVs and even on websites. What’s crazier was that even Tokio Hotel came to KL for this karaoke event.

So why all the hype and what’s this campaign for? Basically, their mantra is that connections make anything possible. Sara believes so too and that is why she has this quote on her name card.

I am made greater by the sum of my connections, and so are my connections

To mark this first birthday of the campaign, a birthday bash was organized in curve on the 21st and there were crazy amounts of fun activities connecting people that day. There were flashmobs with these bunch of happy people holding balloons walking around curve.

Look how happy they were! Basically some guys in the front of the line were carrying a radio and a piece of paper that got passers by to press “PLAY” on the radio. When the music started playing, the whole bunch of people froze and got more people at curve curious of what’s going.

Here we have a woman about to make a whole bunch of people freeze with her magic touch.

The whole centre court of Curve was decked in orange and white and so many booths with games were around for shoppers at The Curve to play and celebrate Everyone Connects’ 1st Birthday.

BUNKFACE performed a number of songs that day! These dudes just won some awards and have created a big name for themselves in the music industry.

Pro Gamer Summer Ash was there to entertain the crowd with her professional gaming skills. I never know professional gamers were hired to do shows like these till now.

She is super cute isn’t she?

Cuteness who can kick ass at the same time.

Loads of prizes, games and stuff were given out to the lucky ones that day. I’m sure everyone will be looking forward to be connected for many more years to come.

Happy first birtday Everyone Connects. More to come, ya?

Peugeot 207 is now available in Malaysia

Events, Launches, Nuffnang 1 Comment »

Peugeot has always been the preferred car brand by my family (at least to my mum and I) because we just seem to have something about the brand, the way it’s pronounced, the design of the rides and the pleasure from riding in them. Can’t say the exact same for my dad though because of the traditional China Man thinking (not saying it’s a bad thing) of buying a car with better resale value yadayada. I have nothing against Japanese cars and in fact I drive one but somehow or rather European cars just feels better, they look better and have nicer names of starters. Don’t bother going into specifics with me, I’m a girl and I’m entitled to think like one!

Like I was saying, I’ve always had a thing for Peugeot cars so when I was extended an invite to the exclusive launch of their latest sedan the 207, I jumped at the opportunity even though it was at Putrajaya.

pic by Joshua

I honestly didn’t think the event would be such a grand one, most of the guests to this event were from the media and banking industry. Even Tun Dr Mahathir graced the event to give us his little note before the new 207 was launched.

So the 207, like the other Peugeots have this distinct look from the front. I love how the Lion is smacked right in front of the ride because I like a car that screams attention, plus it’s a logo of a Lion! (Leo = lion = destined to drive a Peugeot).

Some pictures of the car from the Peugeot Malaysia site.

Will bug the family to go on a test drive for this car since it’s one that is more affordable in the market. =) Anyway, some snaps of the event and people who attended before I wrap.

Of course the rest of the ladies were looking pretty too. Here is Ginny and Nat with me.

By the way, if you haven’t already do check out this video of the 207.

Gotta love Hayley & BOB’s Airplanes as well. Who doesn’t know that song right now since it started hitting the radio, right?

“Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars..”

” I could really use a wish right now..”

These lines have appeared countless times in the tweets of my twitterers I follow and  facebook friends’ statuses!

The funniest Airplanes related tweet has got to be from Leon.

“Can we pretend that dolphins in ocean blue are like swimming sharks, I can really use a fish right now, fish right now, fish right now”

Anyway

They just keep coming

Events, Nuffnang 4 Comments »

The past 2 weeks have been crazy! I’ve been out practically every night be it weekday or weekends either because of work or to catch up with friends. As much as I would love to blog about my life on a daily basis, I simply can’t because there’s way too much happening at the moment.

Photo recap of the past 2 (or more?) weeks till I decide to elaborate more. I didn’t carry my big fat cam around for all the events so these are some images I have from some of them.

Horeca: School of Bartending. There were a series of parties held and I went to 2 out of 3 of them.

This was themed Wonderland, popped by 7atenine with the nuffies to unwind abit on a weekday.

All these pictures are from Veen Dee’s camera.

This is the 3rd Horeca party themed Fashionista that was held at Maison. The party ended pretty early for the nuffies (at 1130PM) because everyone was kinda tired, everyone except me. I was hyper because I went out to get a dress earlier that night and I didn’t want to just waste it for that few hours.

Most of the pictures here are from Cindy’s cam and in my Facebook.

Headed over to a pub called Mark’s Place @ Kelana Jaya Plaza to meet up with some cool people  and the night ended pretty well. =) Looking forward to going back to the place to try out more of their food and drinks!

The following was DiGi’s Breakfree Party at Ecobar. This was a themed party but I had very limited ideas on what to go as. Grabbed the mask i handmade for Yeen’s 21st Birthday party years back, put on a dress, slapped on some red lipstick that’s it!

Headed over to Zouk for Hennessy Artistry right after DiGi with David, Cindy & Andy after that. Pictures here are mostly from Cindy’s Cam (I need a new compact!). Met Joshua and a few others there and even got molested by a girl. A big girl. booo. What’s worst is I think I kinda met this person before..I don’t know, I hope I’m wrong.

I had so much fun dancing there with this bunch of awesome people! Cindy and I are the type who don’t need alcohol in our bloodstream to start dancing and I <3 hanging out with people like her.

Slept for about 3 hours and went to drink Milk with 3000+ over other fun people during Dutch Lady’s World Milk Day. I played nanny/photographer to some hungry milk drinking bloggers that day at Pavilion KL.

It was a hot hot day! Had another event right after at the curve so it was non stop moving around.

This last compilation of pics are from Absolut Rock Launch, last Friday @Blackbox Solaris Dutamas.

Didn’t include the nicer pictures because I’d want a proper entry about this event. *winks*

Now you know why I haven’t been updating my blog. I will do so more diligently for your stalking pleasure. :P

Ascent says I should be smelling like…

Events, Nuffnang 0 Comment »
How I should smell.
If you’ve been reading my blog or you know me long enough, you would know how sensitive I am to smell.
I have a fear of bad smelling people and with that I obviously expect myself to smell good all the time. I carry mints with me all the time, I have an additional bottle of EDT on my desk and also carry miniature perfume in my bag with me.
While everyone else was busy working, I popped by the Ascent event with a few of my colleagues to see whats it all about earlier today.
Ascent, is all about helping you find a fragrance that suits you, your perfume personality. I find this sort of program really interesting because I do find it difficult to purchase a bottle of perfume. There’s so many brands and scents around, how do you people choose?
Based on popularity? The design of the bottle?
I find it a struggle to get myself a fragrance that is not only something I like but more importantly suits my personality to help me *ahem* present myself *ahem* more appropriately in my erm daily life.
Anyway, the event was packed with beautiful people.

Spotted a few local celebs there as well.

Awesome finger food from DOME was served throughout the event.

I was there with Nicholas!
and David the ladies man..
See what I mean?
Oh Iza aka ThePinkStilettos was also there with her sister.
After a little mingling, William introduced Ascent to the guests. This was when I found out that I was not at a launch of a new fragrance but a program to match your fragrance to your personality.
William was sharing how technology has made this whole program such a breeze to carry out. Basically, Ascent developed an iPhone App to match your personality to the type of fragrance out there that suits you, this is all pretty new to me. I’m only familiar with the old school way of sniffing perfume after perfume with coffee bean intervals when it comes to buying perfumes.
No need for the old school way no more, everything could be settled with the iPhone application!
Pretty Liza was there to guide me through this step by step process of finding my perfume personality.
My results!
I’m not gonna share how the process is, go try it yourself at one of the Ascent booths available at Parkson Pavilion KL from 29th April to 5th May 2010!
My perfume personality is Seductive, apparently.

*Flips hair*
After finding out our perfume personality, I was handed the perfume that suits my personality! I was so happy because I didn’t expect them to give us each a whole bottle of perfume and also because that is the fragrance I’ve been wanting to get since the dinosaurs were still around. *tears*
Nicholas got his bottle as well and proceeded to strike a seductive pose with it.

By the way, I should be smelling like DKNY’s be delicious in Fresh Blossom!

Yummy Yummy been wanting this for so long!
So yummy I could just nom it. heeee

So now I know my perfume personality and how I should be smelling like. *winks*
I have something else I want to talk about fragrances. Any of you heard of not giving perfume to your partner as a gift? I forgot who advised me about this when I was looking for a present few years back. I have a bottle of EDT I bought for my bf then and it is still sitting on my desk till today because I came across this myth. Apparently it will sort of distort your relationship if you buy your partner perfume? I don’t know what kinda myth is this but a few of my psycho friends and i deduced that it could be related to pheromones.
Reason being you are attracted to your partner by pheromones and buying them perfume would sort of alter the way they smell and hence, interfering with that attraction between you and your partner? Anyone care to correct me if I’m wrong? I think I am cos I’m simply yakking away without googling. haha!
Have nice smelling day y’all!

If I am Ip Man master, I would…

Nuffnang 0 Comment »
….Train another Bruce Lee.
Because Ip Man is Bruce Lee’s Master and Bruce Lee is missed by alot of people.

image from www.strangekiss.com

and because Bruce Lee was the one who inspired westerners to embrace the art of Chinese Kung Fu.

image from www.zone-sf.com
And I’m a proud Chinese because of that…even though I’m afraid of Chinese food.
For myself though.. If I am Ip Man master, I would want to create my own bubble and stay forever in it. I want world peace and I want all my loved ones to be in that bubble with me.
We would all be safe from attacks of back stabbers
And ghosts
…just to name a few.
Yes. I would love all that.
This is a picture of me getting my Ip Man Wing Chun Kung Fu thing going on.
….via Wii.
I am creating my bubble.
Yay gonna watch Ip Man 2 very very soon all thanks to http://www.gsc-eonbankcard.com/
